Shipping, Policies, and FAQ
PROCESSING TIMES
As of Januaty 1, 2024 deliveries and shipped orders go out on Saturdays and Sundays. If you need it rushed, just send me a message and I'll do everything I can to get it out sooner. Please try to remember that I am a one-woman show; I make, label, advertise, photograph, bookkeep, pack, ship, and deliver all by myself. I am currently sharing my vehicle with my boyfriend who works in the city, so I am without a vehicle during normal business hours.
LOCAL DELIVERY
Local delivery is provided for free with a minimum order of $50. It's a nominal fee of $5 on orders under that amount just to cover gas (I live 70km from Edmonton). Local delivery areas are Edmonton, Sherwood Park, and Beaver County. I do deliveries a minimum of 2 days per week, but it may be more frequently depending on how many local orders I have.
SHIPPING FEES AND POLICIES
Shipping fees are as affordable as I can make them. I provide a flat fee of $123shipping across Canada. $5 shipping rate is untracked, for 2 bars or less, or 1 Seconds Bag. I provide free delivery twice a week (depending on volume) to Edmonton, Sherwood Park, and Beaver County. Once a parcel has made it to the post office, it is no longer the responsibility of Beaver County Soap Co. By choosing untracked mail, you acknowledge that we are not responsible if the package gets lost in the mail. If you have any questions, please get in touch.
INDEMNITY
All ingredients are listed on the listings on the website. By purchasing/using/gifting the products from this shop, you agree to understand the ingredients and will not hold Beaver County Soap Co, nor it's creator, liable for any allergic reactions, damage, pain, or any other issue. CUSTOM ORDERS
We do accept custom orders, 18 bars of soap at a time. Please get in touch at hello@beavercountysoapco.com. Please note: custom orders must contain only ingredients and additives that align with our love for botanicals. There may be an additional charge depending on ingredients, and please allow us 1 month to fulfill and ship the order. We can do custom molds, sizes, colours, scents, additives, and toppings. I will always completely confirm your specifications to make sure you're happy!
PERFECTLY IMPERFECT
All of our products are imagined, handmixed, handmolded, handcut, and handwrapped. Our photos will be as accurate as possible, but may not be of the exact bar of soap. The soap may be perfectly imperfect, and I am as accurate as possible with the descriptions and the photos. I do not use machinery to make any of the products in this shop.
DO YOU MAKE SHAMPOO BARS
No, those are synthetic detergent products, and it's not my wheelhouse. I can recommend some local makers of syndet bars, though!
WHAT'S IN THE SOAP
Each bar of soap is different, and the ingredients are available on the individual listings.
WHY ARE THERE NO NAMES
Though I do keep a record of what is in the soap, and the process to make each design, I prefer to keep them unnamed at this time. Some of my limited soaps have a name, though. This may change in the future.
WHY IS THERE NO GLITTER/NEON/MICA/PALM OIL/TITANIUM DIOXIDE
This is a personal choice, where I want to keep everything as kind to the environment and to people (producers and consumers alike) as possible. There are plenty of soapmakers who utilize fragrance oils and vibrant neon colours - a lid for every pot 😊.
WHAT IS LYE, AND IS IT IN THE SOAP
Lye is a strong alkali that comes in pellet form (commonly known as a type of drain cleaner). All soap is made with lye. The lye in my soap is mixed with frozen goat's milk or coconut milk, and then blended with a mixture of oils which then goes through saponification. Once the bars have been cured for 6 weeks, they are ready to be used! Any soap made without lye is a detergent, and not a soap.
WILL THE SOAP CURE MY AILMENTS
I do have additional ingredients on offer (colloidal oatmeal, aloe vera, etc.), but I make no medical claims. Always be wary of any maker who does - and please be an informed consumer.
DO YOU USE POWDERED GOAT'S MILK
I use raw goat's milk, directly from our farm. We do not use a powdered product (though there is nothing wrong with it). We do not sell our goat's milk.
MY BAR OF SOAP IS SOFT IN MY SHOWER
Please make sure to store your soap on a good soap dish with adequate drainage. When a bar of soap stays wet, it will get soft and won't last as long.
REFUND POLICY
Generally speaking, I do not provide refunds. If there is any issue whatsoever with your order, please reach out and I will do everything in my power to make it right for you. I do not refund or replace orders where the wrong address was provided to me.
